Sharing the bloggy love

Isn’t this sweet? Which one of you lovelies put me up for this??

Heather of One Woman’s World has put together a bloggy love award exclusively for women bloggers, and someone nominated this blog under the category of “Best Conversation”!

I am particularly honoured by a nomination in this category because it’s really all about you guys. I just dredge up a topic every day (and lately, I’ve delegated even that to you!) and set you guys loose in the comment box. Yesterday’s debate on the use of leisurely as an adverb or an adjective was but one perfect (albeit geeky) example of how I set the stage and you manage to upstage me with astonishing ease.

So I see this as a group nomination – and the credit is mostly yours! Go ahead, vote for yourself! And while you’re at it, check out some of the other terrific blogs that have been nominated in categories like best writing, best humour, and ‘most makes me want to have kids’.

Now, pssst – ‘fess up! Who nominated us???

  1. Vote, eh? It’s no secret that I’m a fan of the Canadian Blog Awards, and I even played along this year in the administration of the awards this year, judging eligibility in a few categories and participating in a loose sort of e-mail advisory board on the set-up and direction of the...
  2. Drama at the Canadian Blog Awards Sigh. When I was asked, maybe a month or so ago, to help out in determining whether nominated blogs were eligible for their category in the Canadian Blog Awards, I was happy to do so. As I said, the CBAs have been good to me over the years, although I...
  3. Name that iPod – Vote for your favourite! Time to move on to the voting phase of the Name that iPod Summer Contest! I tried valiantly to enter the code for the poll into this post, but Blogger would have none of it, so you’ll find the poll in the sidebar to the right. I limited the choices...
  4. The one where I shamelessly beg for votes I’m torn. On one hand, it’s quite clear. In the Canadian National Identity Handbook, it clearly states that we are to be a self-effacing, unassuming, toe-twisting-in-the-carpet, “aw-shucks” brand of modest. On the other hand, I am a known attention-whore. I admit it. I am needy for a steady stream of...
  5. Apparently I put the “pen” in “penis” Been getting a lot of blog fodder from CBC these days. Last week it was the top 10 TV shows courtesy of Q, and today’s post comes via old Spark podcasts I downloaded to listen to on our road trip this past weekend. According to the artificial intelligence at GenderAnalyzer.com,...
