Kratt brothers!! *swoon* I have such a mom-crush on them! And there’s a special place in my heart for Ray’s Reptiles, too. We do love our critters around here! The boys are super-excited about attending this one – doesn’t it sound like kid heaven? Kidsfest runs Saturday and Sunday April 5-6 at the EY Centre. For details on tickets and the schedule of events, visit the Kidsfest website.

But you, my bloggy peeps, can win one of two family passes that I have to give away! I have TWO family passes, each comprising two adult and two child admissions to Kidsfest Ottawa on either April 5 or April 6, 2014. If you would like to enter the giveaway to win one of the two family passes, simply leave a comment on this blog post telling me about a family-friendly activity you enjoy in Ottawa.

Here’s the fine print:

  1. This is a giveaway for one of two sets of family passes to Kidsfest Ottawa on April 5 or 6, 2014.
  2. A family pass comprises two adult and two child admissions to Kidsfest.
  3. To enter the giveaway, simply leave a comment on this post telling me about a family-friendly Ottawa activity that you enjoy.
  4. Two winners will be chosen at random from all comments posted. Each winner will win one family pass [2 adult and 2 child admissions] to Kidsfest, good for either April 5 or April 6.
  5. Everyone who “likes” Postcards from the Mothership on Facebook will get a bonus entry. (This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook.) If you already like Postcards from the Mothership on FB, just say so in your comment.
  6. This giveaway is open only to residents of Canada, excluding residents of Quebec. (sorry!)
  7. This giveaway will run until 11:59 pm EDT on Friday March 21, 2014.
  8. If you win, you must be willing to provide your full name and contact information to me to share with Kidsfest Ottawa. Your pass will be available at the EY Centre’s “Will Call” desk during Kidsfest.
  9. Please note that the family passes do not include fees for parking at the EY Centre.

Sounds like fun, right? Good luck!

Disclosure: In addition to offering two family passes for this giveaway, Kidsfest also offered us a family pass in exchange for this promotion. Now to figure out which kid has to sit in the parking lot since the pass only covers four admissions, and I don’t think I will be able to convince Beloved to sit this one out, either! 😉

Edited to add: Thank you all for entering. Two winners have been selected and contacted via e-mail and I will share the details once they confirm their availability. However, here’s a good deal for everyone else from Capital Parent: Use promo code ‘CPSOCIAL2014’ and get $3 OFF adult admission when you buy your tickets online!

  1. I’ll be there for sure – a pass would just make it sweeter :). I’m SO looking forward to all the amazing things there are to do around here in the spring and summer, but a definite annual favourite is Mont Cascades for water slides. Mentally, I’m already there :).

  2. Would love to attend! We are always looking for family-fun activities in Ottawa. Some of our favorites include walks around the Wild Bird Care Centre on Moodie drive. We love visiting the centre and seeing all the birds in their care. In fact, we even hosted a birthday party there! Another favorite is the splash pad at Centrepointe in the summer. And thinking of Centrepointe – we frequent the theatre quite often. They have a wonderful family-friendly series of plays, musicals and events. Please choose us! Though, like you, we will have to banish one member to the car!!!!

  3. A family-friendly Ottawa activity that I enjoy the most is the RCMP musical ride. I already like Postcards from the Mothership on FB,

  4. We really enjoyed night skating at city hall. And of course I like your FB pg. And I love the Kratt bros. You’re so lucky to get free passes but they should know you need 5!

  5. A family friendly activity to do in Ottawa is Geocaching. Great way to get outdoors with the kids and explore the green parts of the city! 😀

  6. What a line up! Kratts, Funatorium, Little Rays and more! We would love to go!

One activity we really enjoy as a family is cross country skiing at various trails around Stony Swamp. Goodness knows we have had one heck of a winter for it!

  7. The jellybean and I just had the most incredible morning at the National Gallery this past Sunday. But I have to say I’m mentally prepared for Mont Cascades like Lynn!

I’m a FB follower as well.

  8. Our two go-to activities are swimming at Carleton University (Saturday and Sunday afternoons) and the triumvirate of museums (Science, Agriculture and Aviation) that we get with one membership.

  9. My 2 children and I have always enjoyed museum visits. Most often the museum of Nature, our weekly adventure place. The 15 min dino info movie is a fav! I enjoy following your page and thank you for your advice and ideas! 🙂

  10. Our favourite family-friendly summer activities are searching for interesting new City of Ottawa playgrounds and parks, the Museums of Agriculture and Aviation, and the biggest hit of last summer: Pirate Adventures in Mooney’s Bay.

  11. We love our museum membership! There are so many great things to do in Ottawa. Thanks for a great giveaway 🙂
I follow you on FB too.

  12. Wow this is a great give away! There are so many, many fantastic things to do in Ottawa with kids it’s difficult to name just one. One of the little known spots in Ottawa seems to be Pinheys Point museum. The grounds are vast and spectacular. Little ones can explore the remaining ruins of the workers cottages and the original manor kitchen walls stand. The home overlooks the river where canoers enjoy sunset paddles, little feet enjoy the water, and eager ears gather around a fire for weekly stories and marshmallows in the summer. Summer days offer daycamps and workshops but the average picnicer will love the beauty of the scenery while busy families will love the play structure on site. The home is restored to it’s orinigal beauty but they have installed a real washroom! I follow you on FB! Although I have described a wonderful family activity I must mention the absolutely fantastic Puppets Up Festival in Almonte – whole town is involved, the international talent is increadible and there is something for all ages with VIP seating for the little ones up front. They have made it a festival that you can simply show up even if you don’t have a ticket! A must do for families!

  13. Hmmm……things to do in Ottawa. I’d like to throw snow-shoeing into the mix.
Don’t own snow-shoes you say?? Never fear! – you can rent them at MEC or Trailhead.
Don’t know where to go?? Try the forest you take your summer walks in or be adventurous and find a new trail here: http://www.ncc-ccn.gc.ca/places-to-visit/greenbelt/things-to-do/hiking-walking-greenbelt. There are so many trails in and around Ottawa there’s definitely one near you.
And PFTM facebook – you are officially liked:)

  14. We went to Kidsfest last year and the kids loved it (it helped that Dora and Diego were last year’s celebrity guests). As for our favourite activities, mine love the nature and kids’ museums. We also spend much of the summer hanging out at the splash pad and wadding pool in our neighbourhood.

    P S-follow you on FB.

  15. There are some great ideas here! A few other favourites in the Ottawa area that are already on our list for this summer: the Medieval Festival in Osgoode and PuppetsUp in Almonte.
