  1. Vote for me, vote for me, oh please please please won’t you vote for me? **earsplitting squee** Remember last week when I wrote that rather locquacious ramble through my own archives that masqueraded as an entry into Mabel’s Labels’ “Send a blogger to BlogHer” contest? I had such fun writing it, but it was really only a lark. I mean, can you imagine what Beloved...
  2. The one where I shamelessly beg for votes I’m torn. On one hand, it’s quite clear. In the Canadian National Identity Handbook, it clearly states that we are to be a self-effacing, unassuming, toe-twisting-in-the-carpet, “aw-shucks” brand of modest. On the other hand, I am a known attention-whore. I admit it. I am needy for a steady stream of...
  3. Working my social media networks I spent the weekend spamming my family, friends, acquaintances, and more than a few random strangers, grubbing votes for the “Send a Blogger to BlogHer” contest. Since I work(ed) in social media, I’ve got a pretty good idea of how to run a social media campaign, and that’s more or...
  4. I forgot to vote! Can you believe that I’ve completely forgotten to vote in the Canadian Blog Awards since Sunday? For goodness sake, if I don’t remember to vote for myself, how can I exhort you to vote for me? (Although there’s been quite a bit of controversy, and lots of other things going...
  5. I’m trapped in the basement! Vote for me to set me free!! Okay, so the fact that I’m trapped in the basement (they’re installing the laminate over my head as I type) and the fact that I’ve been nominated for Best Family Blog in the Canadian Blog Awards are completely unrelated. And yet, they’re the best segue I’ve got. Save me from...

I will go now and vote for you. And I’ll do it again from home. I’d kill for a weekend in Chicago — my sister still talks about her (non-blog-related) girls’ weekend there a couple of years ago. But I digress. You totally deserve to win.

hard to resist the cute marketing…

Several years ago, when we wanted to ask my sister to be godmother to my oldest, we did a series of pictures of him with the question posed in refrigerator magnets above his little head… she absolutely loved it.

And of course she said ‘yes’… as do I, so i’m off to vote.
