The boys laughed uproariously when we watched a preview of Mr Bean’s Holiday at the theatre, so Beloved thought it would be a good Sunday-afternoon family movie to rent. It’s Mr Bean; how could it be anything but harmless, if not a little silly?

And now, ten reasons why you might not want to watch a Mr Bean movie with your four year old, according to Simon.

“Daddy, why is Mr Bean making that face?”

“Daddy, what is Mr Bean doing?”

“Daddy, why is Mr Bean eating that bug?”

“Daddy, why is Mr Bean getting on that train?”

“Daddy, why is Mr Bean angry?”

“Daddy, why is Mr Bean putting on a wig?”

“Daddy, what is Mr Bean doing with that boy?”

“Daddy, what is Mr Bean doing to that phone?”

“Daddy, why did Mr Bean leave his suitcase on the train?”

“Daddy, where are you going? Aren’t you going to watch Mr Bean anymore? Daddy???”

  1. LOL, we tried it too with similar results. Although the turkey over the head translated well enough.

  2. LOL! I’ve spent the past 2 hours and 20 min. reading my way from your due date until now – WOW!!

I have two boys, aged 5 and a half, and almost two…..

For each of my boys I have sworn off EVER having another child – EVER! And yet as my “baby” nears two…..I’ve been toying with the idea of having a third. My husband recently started a job that will (should) definitely allow for my to be a full time pro-mama…..and so the idea has come to the forefront!

I suffered from a bad case of post partum depression with my second, and I am on meds to keep clinical depression at bay (I was with my first – so no PPD with him), and they do a pretty fine job when I’m not doing something like “moving to another Provence” or “being full time working mom, of two small boys, while daddy is gone for months at a time to train for a new job”. All that said; I was searching the web to find out how other modern moms are fairing with a third child (to squelch my own fears) – when I came across your website!

Now things were looking pretty good, and seamed pretty manageable, even brought back nursing terrors from my first two, and memories of my hips not working properly etc., and I was on the VERGE of believing I definitely, for sure, 100% could handle a third – when you went along and hit Day 18!!! So I, and my future-not-even-barely-thought-up-third-child, are counting on you to make it through the next few days triumphantly!!!! Cheers! And thanks for sharing all of your oh-so-intimate details on here!!
