It’s 7:30 am and I’m not sure what to think. The contractions almost completely died out after my last post while I was taking a shower, but are now back with mild intensity and regular frequency. Just put in a call to the midwife to see what she thinks. I guess I should wake up Beloved?
Sheesh! I can’t take the ambiguity!

- Liveblogging labour or false start? It’s 4:30 in the morning and the house is silent. Everyone is asleep except for me and the dog, who has followed me downstairs with faithful if not bleary curiousity. I didn’t sleep more than 45 minutes last night. I suppose this means I am biologically unable to bring a...
- Sploosh! Hey, guess what? Breaking news – or should that be breaking water? I’m leaking. Really leaking. A lot! Even women gestating elephant calves don’t have *these* kind of bladder control issues! Waiting for the midwife to call back… still no contractions. And you know why my water is breaking as...
- Liveblogging labour – part three Coming up on 4 pm, seven hours since my water started breaking (and breaking, and breaking). It was a nice, quiet afternoon but now everyone is home. Beloved and Tristan are playing The Incredibles on the computer, Simon is watching TVO Kids and I’m wondering exactly when the contractions will...
- Lessons learned from a post-due baby I wish the last three weeks of this pregnancy could have been as blissfully content as the last four days or so have been. Starting with a quiet day to myself on Thursday, each of the last couple of days – even including the snowstorm – have been such a...
- Liveblogging labour – part four Okay, seriously? This has to be one of the weirdest labours ever. I was just playing Wii Bowling with the boys, trying to stimulate some contractions (hey, it’s not in the literature as a contraction-inducer, but you never know!) when the student midwife called. My new primary midwife is on...

Thinking and praying for an easy labour!
Sending you good thoughts.

yay! I hope #3 is about to arrive!!! Don’t keep us in suspense for too long.
Ohhhh! Happy dance! Good luck – give the midwife a call maybe she’ll come to your house, monitor some contractions and check your cervix – that might even get things going for ya. Good luck!
Is it too late to go for a horse back ride? Jumpnig jacks? S-E-X??
When I was in early labour every time I took a shower the contractions would die out for a few hours and then come back a bit more powerfully. Considering the fact that even when I went in they still weren’t really strong enough to be really effective I think I’ll be taking more showers next time to see if that helps speed up the process. Good luck!
