So, if this blog were to mysteriously reinvent itself in a new home, would you want all the original posts to move with it? Or would you expect a fresh start in the new location, assuming the old posts will be archived here for eternity and beyond?
And what if it were possible but intimidatingly difficult to shuffle almost 10,000 (!!!) comments from HaloScan to the new location… would the old posts be worth having in the new location, but stripped of their comments? Or would it be worth the extra chunks of pulled-out hair and special favours begged of tech support to get those comments over there, too.

A change is as good as a rest – but only if the change isn’t loaded with stress.
Do what you can to launch your new site, and perhaps do the other moves at your leisure?

Personally, I don’t reread your old posts so it doesn’t matter to me. But it probably matters to you, so if you’re able to import your old entries and have them in one easy place, do it. If you don’t import, are you planning on keeping (this) Blogger site as an archive? Or does Blogger eventually shut down/delete websites that are inactive for a period of time?

Perfect timing! I just moved my family website/blog from my homemade site to Typepad. I left all the archives (3.5 years!) in the old location and just linked to them on the new site. It seemed like the easiest thing to do to me. They’re kind of cobbled together on many locations on our cable company’s server so I couldn’t figure out a way to convert them to Typepad without a lot of work.
As for your site, I think the comments are great added content to your original thoughts. I’d hate for them to be lost. Seems like it would be easiest to leave everything here and just do all new stuff at the new site. Good luck figuring it out!

I was very sad about losing my haloscan comments when I went from Blogger to WordPress. It had stopped me from moving in the first place, but then I lost them to Blogger Beta….
The archives are nice–as a pp suggested, maybe keep the Blogger archives?
