We’re lucky to have a lot of great museums in Ottawa. On a Sunday morning, when the windchill is a nippy – 20C, visiting one of the local museums is a great way to burn off some preschooler energy. And taking pictures and posting them is a great way to post to blog without actually doing any work!
This is our morning at the Canadian Museum of Nature, which happens to be admission-by-donation while they’re undergoing some renovations. The boys, as you can see, loved it – from the cockroaches to the bullfrogs to the dinosaurs, from the colouring to the digging to the really big puzzles, they had a great time. And you know what they liked the best? Four flights of stairs. Go figure.
I’ve been meaning to take Nathan there now that he is soo totaly interested in Dinosaurs but haven’t, as yet. Maybe I should as soon as I get a vechile that runs again…sigh.
Glad you guys had a great day there.

Nice pics. I used to walk by that museum every day on the way to work and I finally stopped in after a few months in Ottawa. It’s actually a pretty cool museum.

Sorry we missed it!! Unfortunately, our entire family was visiting The Museum of Daycare Bacterium and Viruses. I can’t say that we really appreciated the Cold and Flu exhibit. Hope next week works out better.

Ah yes. The creepy crawly museum with the pretty windows. The building actually has a cool history. (Wiki here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadian_Museum_of_Nature)
We haven’t been for awhile. I am looking forward to when the restoration/construction work is done.

It is a wonderful building. Beloved gave me a cook’s tour of the neo-gothic architecture, and talked about bringing his students in for a field trip. The same architect also designed the building I’m currently working in, which isn’t nearly as lovely.
Jaimie, sorry to hear you guys were sick! Ugh, daycare viruses.

I went to a wedding there once! My guys would love it – wish we’d been there with you.

*sigh* I’m jealous. One of the downsides of living in a small town is, we’ve only got one museum. It’s a great one, but how often can a person visit the same museum?
Looks like so much fun!
