We’re definitely overdue for a “yay day” around here!

It’s been a long time since I’ve put up a “yay day” post, where we can share in the big and little things that are making us happy these days. I love the yay day posts for many reasons, not least of which I love to hear what’s worth celebrating in each of your lives, and also because I think it’s important to savour the good things that happen to all of us.

I have so much to be grateful for lately, I could fill and entire week of yay days. The boys are settling in well at their new school, and I’ve made a few friends in the neighbourhood myself. I even joined the parent council, definitely a post for another day. Yesterday, my eight year old read me a book that his teacher indicated was a late-Grade 5 reading level — which puts him about two years ahead of the curve. We bought a new fridge the other day, and a new washer and dryer, too. I’m excited about work because I’m doing another speaking engagement at a Social Media in Government conference on Tuesday, and I’ll have my excellent new Mark’s makeover clothes to show off. Heck, I’m happy just because it’s Friday!

Oh, and did I forget to mention that the house is sold? *squeeeeee!!!!!!* The conditions are waived and the deal is sealed, baby!! Not quite sure what the plan is from here, but it looks like we’ll take possession within a couple of weeks, and move in mid-October.

YAY!!

So tell me, my darling bloggy peeps, what’s making your heart sing these days? (And, thanks to Kerry for suggesting that today would be a good day for a yay day. You’re right as usual, Kerry!)

  1. Around 3 years ago, my mother in law passed away after a very long time of suffering a disease. For some reason God only knows, she waited for my wife to visit her from 10000 kms away and, after a few days she died almost in her arms.

Her grief was very long and painful. It has a deep impact on her and us, her family. But now, just a couple of days ago, she told me it was time to move on and start enjoying life again.

You cannot imagine how happy I am! My love is back!

PS: Danielle… Hell you nailed it with the subject today! Thanks for allowing me to relief!

  2. I’m in LOVE> 😀 And he loves me back. 😀 And he treats me like gold, or in his words “the way I should be treated”

After years in a shite marriage which made me think I was insane, this is such a gift and a blessing.

  3. I’m down 13 lbs! And I’m starting another new project and I think it’s going to be fun! And I have a marvelous family. YAY!

  4. A specialist medical appointment has come through much quicker than foreseen, cause for much relief. 🙂

And, it’s our yearly ‘girl’s weekend’ with my SIL’s and spouse! Yippee!

Congrats on the FINAL SALE! You’ll be in the new place for Hallowe’en!

  5. It’s fall. I LOVE fall. The temperature, the colours, the feeling of new beginnings for some reason…it’s the cozy season. To top it off, my 8 month old is only waking up once in the night again, and letting me go back to sleep again until 6:30!!

  6. I’m delighted and so happy for you for this final sale coming through. So exciting for you and it’s wonderful that the kids are settling in so well to their new school and neighbourhood. I’m sure you will all love it there when you are fully settled. Your first Christmas in your new home will be so much fun!
Knock their socks off at that conference!

  7. YAY for Yay Days!! I’m gonna give a “oh yeah!” for my new cleaning lady, who does the things I’m way too lazy to do, like fill up the toilet paper holders and hang up my jackets and (gulp) take three sets of dishes to the basement. She is a serious find, and I’m going to pay her better. YAY!

  8. My baby girl finally cut that third tooth is back to being her happy, smiley self. My five year old son is uber excited about reading in Grade 1. My husband is working the budget to fit in a trip to Mexico in 2011. I started the Couch to 5K and feel awesome. It’s alllllllll good 🙂
