Delurker Day 2010

Well, wouldja lookit that? Turns out today is Delurker Day 2010.

You know what this means, right? You have to pay your annual toll by delurking and letting me know something about you. Lord knows y’all know more than enough about me; now it’s time to turn the tables and pay the piper and whatever other tired old clichés you can think of.

Delurk, and tell me something about yourself, or why you’re here, or just wave hello for goodness sake! (C’mon, you know you want to!)

  1. Hi, Happy Delurker Day! (waving).
I stop by once or twice a week. I’m at home near Pakenham, being a mom, wife, “entertainer/creative director” and failed dog whisperer to our small family who enjoys the wide range of topics that you offer us. Always interesting, often amusing and sometimes touching.
Keep up the great writing. You have a wonderful family πŸ™‚

  2. Happy Delurker Day! I stole the idea and badge for my own blog to see if I could entice a few readers out of hiding. We live in the south end of Ottawa, I’m a working mom (I have an 18-month old daughter), and I really enjoy the “local flavour” of your blog.

  3. I’m not quite a lurker, though I did lurk for a year or so before commenting. I’m a working (aren’t we all!) Mom to a three year old little guy. I work in recreation, primarily with youth and the husband is in IT. We live in the east end of Ottawa and I love photography (though I’m very much an amateur), singing, writing and Grey’s Anatomy.

We don’t always agree, but I very much enjoy your wit, creativity and local spin on life in the Dominion’s capital.

    Happy Delurker Day!

  4. I mostly lurk unless you dangle questions about PEI in front of me! I’m mostly home with my 2 wee ones (3 and 1) but also do freelance environmental consulting when no one is throwing up or bleeding πŸ™‚

  5. I know I am bad at lurking and have spent hours today trying to do better, leaving comments all over the place!

We too live in Ottawa and I loved your posts last year on some of the beautiful places there are to visit – now I just need to make the time to go there myself rather than just enjoy them through your pics!

  6. Well you know me a little bit, but I only delurked recently. I was reading a lot of blogs for a long time before I started commenting. I had felt shy before but now I realize how vital comments are to a blogger. I love your blog and you were definitely one of the ones who inspired me to start my own blog.
    Thanks!

  7. I’ve been reading for years – I just love the way you write, your photography and the perspective of family life in Canada, worlds away from me here in Australia. Happy to be finally forced to delurk!

  8. I’ve been reading your blog for a couple or three years as well. I love that you are so informative about things going on in the Ottawa area ( I’m a grandma of six and live in Ottawa) Keep up the good work!

  9. i don’t think i really count since i comment regularly. but if you want to know some random facts about me, i just happen to have posted just that the other day!
happy de-lurker. i should try that too.

  10. Your blog is a relatively new addition to my day! I’ve only found you recently and I’m so glad I did. I’m a west-end Mom, living in Stittsville, with two beautiful girls, 2 1/2 years and 3 months. You crack me up on a regular basis, and I’ve posted a number of your posts on my facebook page to encourage others to read and laugh along the way~
Thanks for your honesty and your wit. Happy Delurker Day!

  11. I guess I’m what would be termed outspoken…I don’t think I’ve ever lurked, except topically. If I have something to say about something, out it comes. I found your blog through a ‘best Ottawa blogs’ list some months back and stop by weekly or so.

Oh, and I envy your photographic talent. Lots.

  12. I’ve read your blog for a few years now. I’m a mother of two, aged 5 and 7, and a working mom. I always enjoy your posts, and watching your photography develop. You amaze me, both in your talent, and your enthusiasm/energy. Keep it up!

  13. Hi there! I lurk sometimes, comment others – comment a lot over on flickr! I love your blog and it’s been part of my inspiration to start my own. Your photos are also fantastic! Keep writing and keep snapping pics!

  14. I lurk in here everyday. I really enjoy your approach to family life and raising boys. I feel like I have a lot to learn being a mother. I get a lot of inspirations from you and I learn a lot too.

  15. not a total lurker – have already commented. we are here in ottawa for a year from Israel. thanks for all the great tips.

  16. Hi! Mom of 3 (11 months, 2.5 and just turned 4). Definitely a lurker (almost daily). Love that you are local (we’re in Aylmer), that you have great suggestions for family activities. Thanks for blogging!

  17. Hi. I live in Ottawa too, and my two girls are respectively just a little younger than your two older boys, so I like to read up about what I might be about to experience as a mum.

  18. The donder the reindeer rant is one of my favorite Christmas traditions. No, really it is.
