{"id":877,"date":"2007-05-24T17:58:00","date_gmt":"2007-05-24T17:58:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/danigirl.ca\/blog\/?p=877"},"modified":"2007-05-24T17:58:00","modified_gmt":"2007-05-24T17:58:00","slug":"go-sens-go","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/danigirl.ca\/blog\/2007\/05\/24\/go-sens-go\/","title":{"rendered":"Go Sens GO!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When I heard that there would be a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbc.ca\/canada\/ottawa\/story\/2007\/05\/24\/sens-rally-070524.html\">rally to cheer the Senators on to a Stanley Cup victory <\/a>on the very day I was home with the boys, I couldn&#8217;t resist bringing them downtown for what could be a once-in-a-lifetime event.<\/p>\n<p>It was hot &#8211; damn hot, to quote Robin Williams &#8211; and crowded, but still a wonderful experience to be a part of a crowd of 6000 Cup-crazy fans. The boys had their new Senators jerseys on, fresh from Saturday&#8217;s inagural wearing, and &#8220;Go Sens!&#8221; written on their cheeks in, well, in my eyeliner.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bp1.blogger.com\/_F8hCQ7IbS40\/RlXTyL_y66I\/AAAAAAAAAQ4\/Qwi1pxeRG9k\/s1600-h\/IMG_4540.JPG\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5068189814842649506\" style=\"DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/bp1.blogger.com\/_F8hCQ7IbS40\/RlXTyL_y66I\/AAAAAAAAAQ4\/Qwi1pxeRG9k\/s320\/IMG_4540.JPG\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>Does it get more Canadian than poutine at a Stanley Cup hockey rally? Kerry was kind enough to share hers with Simon.<\/p>\n<div><a href=\"http:\/\/bp0.blogger.com\/_F8hCQ7IbS40\/RlXTk7_y65I\/AAAAAAAAAQw\/_GEbUtQuY50\/s1600-h\/IMG_4537.JPG\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5068189587209382802\" style=\"DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/bp0.blogger.com\/_F8hCQ7IbS40\/RlXTk7_y65I\/AAAAAAAAAQw\/_GEbUtQuY50\/s320\/IMG_4537.JPG\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a> We had three generations of bandwagon hockey fans cheering for the Sens: Tristan and Simon, me and Papa Lou!<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><a href=\"http:\/\/bp1.blogger.com\/_F8hCQ7IbS40\/RlXTYL_y64I\/AAAAAAAAAQo\/xAUZdMs7LAo\/s1600-h\/IMG_4540.JPG\"><\/a><br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/bp0.blogger.com\/_F8hCQ7IbS40\/RlXSm7_y63I\/AAAAAAAAAQg\/Z0_sfh4W_0U\/s1600-h\/IMG_4543.JPG\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5068188522057493362\" style=\"DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/bp0.blogger.com\/_F8hCQ7IbS40\/RlXSm7_y63I\/AAAAAAAAAQg\/Z0_sfh4W_0U\/s320\/IMG_4543.JPG\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a> The boys had fun, but spent an inordinate amount of time looking at the backs of people&#8217;s knees as they sweated in the newly rechristened &#8216;Sens wagon&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bp1.blogger.com\/_F8hCQ7IbS40\/RlXT_L_y67I\/AAAAAAAAARA\/Bup2NY4pw7k\/s1600-h\/IMG_4548.JPG\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5068190038180948914\" style=\"DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/bp1.blogger.com\/_F8hCQ7IbS40\/RlXT_L_y67I\/AAAAAAAAARA\/Bup2NY4pw7k\/s320\/IMG_4548.JPG\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>There were lots of smiling faces, and plenty of funny expressions of fandom. This guy who was standing near us had both!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bp3.blogger.com\/_F8hCQ7IbS40\/RlXUKr_y68I\/AAAAAAAAARI\/dOZRn0Uugig\/s1600-h\/IMG_4549.JPG\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5068190235749444546\" style=\"DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/bp3.blogger.com\/_F8hCQ7IbS40\/RlXUKr_y68I\/AAAAAAAAARI\/dOZRn0Uugig\/s320\/IMG_4549.JPG\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a> I&#8217;m pretty sure this guy had sunstroke by the end of the rally.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bp3.blogger.com\/_F8hCQ7IbS40\/RlXUVr_y69I\/AAAAAAAAARQ\/dMWnRFYsNxg\/s1600-h\/IMG_4550.JPG\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5068190424728005586\" style=\"DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/bp3.blogger.com\/_F8hCQ7IbS40\/RlXUVr_y69I\/AAAAAAAAARQ\/dMWnRFYsNxg\/s320\/IMG_4550.JPG\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a> This was the best moment of the rally. (Well, this and when Lucky Ron sang Stompin&#8217; Tom Connors&#8217; The Good Old Hockey Game!)
