Yeah, me too. I missed it!<\/p>\n<p>I went for a nice long walk in the woods today and saw the most glorious signs of spring, including patches of these delicate little flowers in sunny spots at the bases of trees.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/postcardsfromthemothership\/17331147356\" title=\"Trout lillies by Danielle Donders, on Flickr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8899\/17331147356_984d69747a_z.jpg\" class=\"frame aligncenter\" width=\"640\" height=\"428\" alt=\"Trout lillies\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve since learned that they&#8217;re called <em>Erythronium americanum,<\/em> commonly known as <a href=\"http:\/\/cwf-fcf.org\/en\/discover-wildlife\/flora-fauna\/flora\/trout-lily.html\">Trout Lily <\/a>or Adders Tongue. They&#8217;re native to the woods and meadows of Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.<\/p>\n<p>Hooray for wildflowers!<\/p>\n<p>I think we&#8217;re ready for portrait season, too.
