Mothership Photography

In the past few years, I have fallen madly and deeply in love with the world as it appears through the viewfinder of my camera. I could spend blissful hour upon hour searching for, framing, playing with and ultimately capturing photographs. Taking pictures nourishes my creative side in a way that fills me with joy.

For the sheer love of photography, I’ve started taking commissions for family photography sessions in the Ottawa area. You can see some of my favourite images and find out about rates and packages on my portfolio website: Mothership Photography.

I’m also on my third round of the now-ubiquitous Project 365, a photo each day for a year. You can read my weekly blog posts about it, or see the results on Flickr.

There’s a special place in my heart for the sheer geekiness of Through the Viewfinder (TtV) photography. Never heard of it? Take a look at this blog post and this blog post, and then take a peek at a few of my favourites.

And if you have any questions or would like to discuss a portrait session, please feel free to contact me! I’m at danicanada @ gmail . com, and I’m @DaniGirl on Twitter. And you can find Mothership Photography on Facebook!

  1. OMG Dani – your photography work is beautifull. Please stop all this self-concious “oh my god can I really do it”? stuff right now. You have more talent in your little finger than some of the big talent photographers pulling in major dollars on big shoots. Your work is not just immediately relevant & compelling, its also art and timeless – not to mention technically awesome!

I am a mom of three in Manotick. I won the Shiverfest photo contest so I should know great photography – being famous and all ; ). For the record, when requesting some photos from Shiverfest, I SPECIFICALLY asked for yours of the horses. I was assumming they were from a professional photographer. And I was right!

    All the best,
    Laura

  2. Thanks for the note on the picnic and the derby. We’re counting on a fantastic day. I hope the big weatherman in the sky thinks so too. Your photography is awesome! The best, Allan
