A week or two ago, I blogged about an interactive widget from CBC.ca that compares national daycare costs. If you’re curious, the follow-up article from CBC is here. (Title = “Rising costs, waiting lists frustrate parents.” No kidding?

- A daycare cautionary tale I’ve been following a story in the media here about an unlicensed child care provider who has been arrested and charged with forcible confinement and obstructing police. The story was first published yesterday, with details of how the parents of 11 children, ages one to four, were called to come...
- More daycare angst So. Daycare. Last you heard from our intrepid heroine, she had committed to finding new care for her boys. Down but not out, she put up ads, sent out feelers and tried to connect with potential new caregivers. And promptly skittered back into her shell, yelping like a kicked poodle....
- Code blue for daycare Please bear with me while I use this little soap-box of mine for a full-on rant about daycare. OMG don’t even get me started on day care. I just talked to the director of my eldest sons day care (he is in before and after school care only) and just found this out. They only have 30 spots for B&A care. All 30 kids are staying on for next year which means that… The 20 kids that are in the Senior Kindergarten room are SOL as far as after care for next school year (in this DC anyhow). AND the school may still pull some of the space they rent to the DC cause our schools population is growing at a staggering pace. Which means that the 30 B&A spaces could turn into 15… And then I would be SOL… AHAHAHAHAHAH One can only cry and then laugh and the cry again.
I read the article yesterday. Ugh. Ugh. Ugh. I have a post I need to write that’s sort of related but I’m too tired to write it now.
