I am in awe! I wanted to do it all natural with John, but I think I was about 7-8 cm when I got the epidural b/c I swear it felt like a bowling ball was going to emerge from my rear end! I remember thinking if I have push this baby out without the epidural, I’m going to lose it. But now I wonder if pushing would have been the easier part of it all!

I’m all teary eyed. What a wonderfully told story. I cry also a little for myself, who wanted the mid-wife assisted, drug-free birth, but ended up with the most invasive birth possible because my little one was breech. Thanks for letting me know what it might have been like.

Great writing of your story Dani. I am so glad you got to experience both the au naturel birth and the midwives. Both of which I feel very strongly about. It definitely sounds like this was a much smoother birth.

I usually found that just as a woman is calling out for an epidural and beginning to barter for time, that it’s time to check her out – cause baby is coming!
